Christian Science Society, Plantation, formerly known as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Plantation, FL, was organized in May 1962. It is a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts www.ChristianScience.com.

SERVICES
SUNDAY 10:30 AM SERVICE

The morning service consists of two Readers, lay people elected by the church membership, who read the weekly Bible Lesson Sermon, which is studied by Christian Scientists during the week preceding the Sunday service.​

Christian Science Churches do not have a personal pastor, but a 'dual pastor' consisting of the Holy Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy

The same weekly Lesson Sermons are read by all Christian Science churches around the world and come from The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts. The Lesson Sermons have 26 specific topics chosen by Mrs. Eddy.

SUNDAY SCHOOL AND NURSERY
Sunday School is provided for students up to the age of 20. They are taught the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, the Lord’s Prayer and Bible stories. Students learn how prayer in Christian Science is effective in addressing the many challenges young people face. Children too young for Sunday School are cared for in the nursery during the church services.

​​​Christian Science Reading Rooms are a combination bookstore, library and quiet place to read, study and pray. While we currently don’t have a Reading Room that offers these options, there are Christian Science Reading Rooms nearby in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and the Miami area. TENETS OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
1. As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal life.
2. We acknowledge and adore one supreme and infinite God. We acknowledge His Son, one Christ;
the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God’s image and likeness.
3. We acknowledge God’s forgiveness of sin in the destruction of sin and the spiritual understanding that casts out evil as unreal. But the belief in sin is punished so long as the belief lasts.
4. We acknowledge Jesus’ atonement as the evidence of divine, efficacious Love, unfolding man’s unity with God through Christ Jesus the Way-shower; and we acknowledge that man is saved through Christ, through Truth, Life, and Love as demonstrated by the Galilean Prophet in healing the sick and overcoming sin and death.
5. We acknowledge that the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection served to uplift faith to understand eternal Life, even the allness of Soul, Spirit, and the nothingness of matter.
6. And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure.

Christian Science churches host lectures by speakers from the Christian Science Board of Lectureship in person and online. Typically we partner with First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fort Lauderdale, for an annual lecture.
